Construction supply chains, case study and integrated cost and performance analysis
The report (that is in English) describes a study that is related to cost and productivity with the focus on management of material flow from development to supplying, storage and placement at a constraction place.
The report claims that a big part of the material costs of construction can be associated with transport and handling costs of the materials. These costs can be reduced, if the supply chain is made effective. The report includes the concept "Supply chain management".
When the supply chain is to be made effective, then among other things, uncertainty factors (risk factors) that are connected to material supply must be defined and dealt with appropriately.
The report descibes a number of supplies of materials to a construction place in Trondheim, Norway. Based on this case study, a reflection and reasoning can be made on the influence of uncertainty factors on the manner material supply is organized in a construction place.
